Ah
Lord God! You are a wonder,
Early
in the morning and evening we will ponder;
On
your awesome love;
You
sent from above.
You laid
aside your divinity,
Your royal robe and kingly crown,
Clothe
your divinity in humanity
When you laid aside your throne;
When you laid aside your throne;
Came down to
this sinful world to stand as head;
In order
that we might be saved instead.
Ah Lord God!
You are a wonder,
Early in the
morning and evening we will ponder;
On your
awesome love;
You sent
from above.
As we
watched you humbled yourself,
We saw the love in your eyes for ourself;
You are
indeed our pattern man;
You are
faithful, forever true; forever human.
Ah Lord God!
You are a wonder,
Early in the
morning and evening we will ponder;
On your
awesome love;
You sent
from above.
You suffered
terribly for our race,
The insult,
the agony we behold on your face;
You came
voluntarily, accomplish your work of atonement;
That all
your children could avoid the punishment;
Foxes
had their holes; the birds their nest;
Yet you King
of Kings had nowhere to rest,
Ah Lord God!
You are a wonder,
Early in the
morning and at evening we will ponder;
On your
awesome love;
You sent
from above.
You were
independent and above all rule,
Angels
your messengers could not be our substitute;
No one could
atone for fallen man;
Except the
one and only God man.
Ah Lord God!
You are a wonder,
Early in the
morning and at evening we will ponder;
On your
awesome love;
You sent
from above.
